The Geelong Careers Expo is a GRLLEN-led initiative designed to give students meaningful, hands-on exposure to career, training and employment opportunities across the region. For Years 9–12, the Expo brings together a wide range of career, training, employment and support services in one central location. Students will engage in hands-on experiences, meet real industry professionals, and access practical information to help shape their futures

REGISTER YOUR SCHOOL

  • The Geelong Careers Expo brings together a wide range of education providers, industry partners, training organisations and support services into one central, high-quality event for secondary students.

    Created by the Geelong Region Local Learning & Employment Network (GRLLEN), the Expo supports young people—particularly Years 9–12—as they explore life beyond school and begin to understand the many pathways available to them.

    • Students will have the opportunity to:

      • Engage in hands-on activities and demonstrations

      • Speak directly with industry professionals

      • Explore university, TAFE, apprenticeship and training pathways

      • Discover careers they may not have previously considered

      • Access support services and inclusive pathway options

      The event is designed to be practical, informative and inspiring — helping students leave with greater confidence about their future.

  • We recommend attendance for:

    • Year 9

    • Year 10

    • Year 11

    • Year 12

    • VCE VM / applied learning programs

    • Specialist schools

    The event is inclusive and accessible, with a broad range of services represented.

    Location: Nyaal Banyul — Geelong Convention & Event Centre

    Times:

    School Session: 9am - 3pm

    Public Session: 3:15pm - 6pm

  • Schools will be allocated to set session times due to venue capacity requirements. Preferred times are collected during registration, and final session confirmations will be sent to schools in March.

  • Session times are not confirmed at the point of registration. Every effort will be made to accommodate preferred times; however, final allocations are subject to overall capacity and event scheduling.

  • Bus drop-off and pick-up points, along with detailed site maps, will be shared with schools closer to the event. As the venue is currently under construction, this information is expected to be confirmed by late April.

  • Yes. A full Event Risk Assessment will be completed in June. Schools requiring a copy for excursion approval process will be able to request this via the website.

  • A complete exhibitor list and event map will be finalised in June and shared with schools prior to the event to assist with student planning and learning outcomes.

  • Yes. Students’ engagement initiatives (event schedule, site map and exhibitor list) are currently being developed, and further details will be shared with schools once finalised.
