Public Session

Connect with local employers, training providers and services.

The Geelong Careers Expo will open to the wider community in the afternoon, providing an opportunity for job seekers, parents and community members to connect directly with local businesses and exhibitors.

About the Public Session

Presented by the Geelong Region Local Learning & Employment Network (GRLLEN), the Geelong Careers Expo is designed to support strong workforce connections across the region.

While the daytime program is dedicated to secondary school students, the Public Session offers the broader community the chance to explore employment, training and support opportunities in one accessible location.

This session is ideal for anyone looking to better understand the local job market, available pathways, and the services that support employment and training.

Why is the event happening?

Geelong needed one central, high-quality careers event where young people could explore the full spectrum of opportunities available to them.

The Geelong Careers Expo was created to:

  • Bring a comprehensive range of providers together in one accessible location

  • Give students meaningful hands-on experiences

  • Expand awareness of local and external career pathways

  • Strengthen collaboration between education and industry

  • Support young people in moving confidently from school to work

It is a new event for a new generation — designed to grow with the region and become a lasting annual pillar.
